(A Word or Two From Your Web-Site Administrator)
|
Again, I'd like to welcome you to what I refer
to as my "promises, promises" page, where from
time to time I attempt to alert the visitors to

this web-site of those upcoming additions I promise to add to
this site. Although the "Detroit Transit History.info" site has
been up now since July 19, 2006 —— which also happens to be the
30th Anniversary date of my start at the Detroit Department of
Transportation (D-DOT) —— it still continues to be a work in
progress, and far from completion.
In addition to a number of new pages being added from time to
time, the web-site also underwent a major face-lift beginning
around the middle of January, 2007. The font type and size
originally used on most of the site's older web-pages were
changed into a more standard font size, with additional photos
being added to a number of the redesigned pages.
The first phase of the web-site's "new-look" began during the
period of January 16th thru 22nd, 2007, when all of the site's
main "Index-Pages" were redesigned into the new format. Our
newly redesigned "Home-Page" was uploaded to the site on
Saturday, January 20, 2007. Since then, the majority of the
pages located throughout the site now sport our new redesigned
look.
So, "What's coming?" you ask. Sometime during the beginning of
this year I will finally begin updating and redesigning those
pages listed under "THE PRE-D.S.R. YEARS" that still remain in
the old format and were never updated. There are also pages
listed under "SEMTA HISTORY" and a few other articles found in
the "MISCELLANEOUS" section of the site I plan to completely
redesign sometime in the near future, but later this year.
Also! I plan to add a new "Search" feature to web-site sometime
in the near future. This site-search feature will help visitors
locate those pages on the site related to a particular topic.
Since we finally added our Video Clip Page back in June (2008),
expect to see new video clips added there from time to time, in
addition to seeing related clips included in upcoming articles.
Video clips have already been added to two previously existing
pages on the site.
Since approval was recently granted to the site to use a number
of photographs from the Walter P. Reuther Library, Wayne State
University "Virtual Motor City Collection," expect to also see
a number of their photos appearing on this site, in addition to
DSR photo images from the Krambles-Peterson Archive Collection,
courtesy of Art Peterson. So stay tuned!
And just a reminder, our "What's New" page is still the page to
visit to check out what's been recently added here since you
last stopped by the site.
But also c'mon back here from time to time to see just what's
coming up!
