The first "low-floor" new buses purchased by DDOT.
Features include: anti-slip flooring, the ability to kneel,
and the use of a bridging ramp, instead of a lift, to load
wheelchair passengers. Also equipped with the Luminator
Horizon LED high-intensity amber Destination Sign
System, and like its RTS predecessors came with the roof-
mounted Sütrak AC35 air-conditioning units.

RTS-II — Original suburban SMART order option diverted
to DDOT. These "suburban edition" coaches came with
forward-facing adjustable "high-back" passenger seats
and over-head storage racks. Originally used primarily for
special shuttle service, and on suburban Park and Ride
express service–transporting employees of General Motors
to the new GM Headquarters which had just moved to the
Renaissance Center  in Downtown Detroit. Detroit Diesel
Series 50 275HP engines.
